How students learn

Students begin with adaptive placement exams, so they can start at the right point in each subject. Learning is mastery based, which means students move through topics as they demonstrate understanding. They may work at different levels across subjects as they build toward mastery, with continuous review helping them retain what they have learned over time.

Placement, progress, and testing

Topic progress
Topics unlock in order, so students build on prerequisite skills before moving ahead.
Mastery
A topic is mastered after five correct answers in a row.
Continuous review
Previously completed topics are reviewed over time to help students retain what they have learned. If a student needs more practice, the topic may return to their study path.
